Hytrol Speed Reducer

The Hytrol Speed Reducer is also known as a gear reducer or gearbox and fits many Hytrol conveyor models.   This speed reducer is available in two sizes: 4AC for up to 1 hp motors and 5AC for 1-1/2 and 2 hp motors.  Other options are ratio, C-face, and right or left-hand orientation.

Models 4A and 5A speed reducers have an input shaft that is connected to the electric motor with the use of a v-belt and sheaves.  

Models 4AC and 5AC speed reducers are supplied with a “C-Face” adapter and are coupled directly to the motor by coupling gears and sleeve.  The coupling gears and sleeve are available separately.

To determine a right hand or left hand Hytrol reducer, look at the end of the output shaft. If the input shaft is on the right side, it is a right-hand assembly.  If it is on the left, it is a left-hand assembly.  Make sure the speed reducer is right side up when viewing the output shaft. In other words, the input shaft where the motor connects is higher than the output shaft as shown in the picture above.
